We’ve been watching American idol for so long now and currently we are on our last season. We’re finally at the last two, which is what everybody predicted from the very beginning – a fight between David Cook (my favorite) and David Archuleta. However, let us think about the past third place Idol winners. Who amongst them do you like the most?
First Season: Nikki McKibbin. Remember her, she was an obvious rocker and she was actually the first in the show to have a consistent rock repertoire. As to this being an advantage to her or not, well she didn’t reach the finals. But do you like her?
Second Season: Kimberly Locke. Simon Cowell constantly criticized her lack of personality, but hey, she reached the final 3.
Third Season: Jasmine Trias. She got tremendous support from the people in California, New York and her hometown Hawaii. Because of her Filipino origin, she also had the vote of the Filipino community. She’s currently one of the more successful winners of idol.
Fourth Season: Vonzell Solomon. This was her second audition for the show. She initially auditioned for the second season but was cut off.
Fifth Season: Elliot Yamin. Both Stevie Wonder and Simon Cowell saw the potential in Yamin the former stating that he was "potentially the best male vocalist" in the five seasons of Idol. Sure enough, after Idol Yamin reached the Billboard Top 200 with his song Wait for You.
Sixth Season: Melinda Doolittle. It was a surprise that she didn’t make it to the finals.
Seventh Season: Syesha Mercado. Finally, the newest addition to our list of third place winners but how could he possibly compete with the two David’s that are now in the finals.
I love Elliot Yamin. Who’s your choice?
More likely we have all seen someone who needed a little help with their makeup skills and maybe a few whose makeup made them a little bit scary. I am once guilty of that but I have improved and just want to share a few tips I've learned myself and a few my girl friends shared.
1. When it comes to blush, more is better.
False: Too much blush is bad. The key is making it look very natural rather than you having people think your cheeks are doubling as stoplights. Choose a blush that has a peachy pink shade. This hue will look great on anyone and will natural on your cheeks.
2. Use a foundation that is one shade lighter or darker than your skin tone.
True: Women sometimes choose a foundation that is the wrong color for their skin. The key is making sure you find a color that matches the rest of your skin tone. Pick a color that seems to disappear into your skin. This will ensure that you look natural instead of like you painted your face.
3. It's perfectly ok to use a dark lipliner.
False: Unless you want to appear as if you were just sipping hot chocolate, you should stay away from lipliners that are too dark. It sticks out and leaves a ring around your lips unless you wear an equally dark lipstick. Choose a lighter color.
4. Always blend the eyeliner and eye shadow.
True: One thing you want to avoid when putting on makeup is the appearance of lines. You don't want to look like you drew or painted your face again, right? One way to do it right is to blend, blend and blend. Make sure you blend your foundation down your neck so you do not have lines around your face.
5. Don't sleep with your makeup still on.
True: Another makeup mistake to avoid is going to sleep with the whole thing still on. Make sure that you wash it off. If you leave your makeup on all night, not only will it get on your sheets, but will also clog your pore which can lead to breakouts.
Even though preggers and all, I still make it a point to put a little blush and a lip gloss once in a while but as I see myself in the mirror,I tend to look more in my growing belly and become amaze at the life inside it and when I see m face, it seems I'm emanating a different glow, a glow that even my most-can't live makeup accessory can't give.
Have you ever been driving when you see a sign that just can’t make you stop laughing? Well here are 4 of the funniest road signs ever. Sometimes, it’s because of a typo, a grammatical error, or just a montage of the right symbols that create the most ridiculous impression. Check them out….
Maybe Arkansas can change that now, if Hilary wins of course.
I suppose the can be shits haha
This is just wrong in so many levels…
I wonder what it was trying to say….
I thank the people who make these signs. It definitely makes my day on my way to wherever…
I can’t wait to see this movie. I know that this is based on a musical but I didn’t see the musical and would love to see the movie. I LOVE ABBA!!! Yes, it may sound a bit gay but I grew up on ABBA and I have to say a lot of my childhood memories have ABBA songs associated with it. My parents discoed with ABBA and my mom used to talk about those days. I even remember her swinging and singing to ABBA while she cooked. Even up to this day Dad just has that sweet nostalgic smile every time he hears ABBA. Can’t wait…
I was reading David Zinczenko and Matt Goulding article and I wasn’t all that surprised about what they discovered – that most of the food we eat in restaurant chains are unhealthy.
On the top of their list is Outback Restaurant giving us 2,900 calories for its cheese fires. But then most business establishments have no responsibility whatsoever for the health of their customers. They want their money that’s it. Of course, they make their food really taste good, at whatever cost and on whoever’s expense – in this case, the cost is unhealthiness and the expense is at the customer’s health.
It’s more practical to just cook at home. It’s much cheaper, much tastier and definitely much healthier. We have full control of what we eat. I know that most of us are working and we neither have the time nor the energy to cook our own meals.
This is what I used to do when I was working. I choose 2 days to cook within the week then I freeze whatever it is that I cook so I’ll just have to re-heat on other days. Just sharing, especially with the amount of unhealthy but convenient food out there….
I know this most probably is the result of hormonal change but, what the hey… I’m going to share it anyway…
I was surfing through the channels and I saw Phil Collins singing in the Disney channel. I love Phil Collins so I let it stay on the Disney Channel…
He was singing You’ll be in my Heart…with the video of Tarzan as a small boy and the Gorilla mother… have you seen that? Well all of a sudden I started crying…
Disney’s for children but somehow they have songs that just hit straight to your heart…anyway…
I’ve been having the normal apprehensions about motherhood. I mean, this is the first time I’m going to be a mother and I kept thinking. I’m all screwed up how in God’s name am I suppose to try and guide the life of another…then I heard this song, one of the best of Disney’s in my opinion.
I suppose this song answers a lot of my doubts…
Do you get along with your in-laws?
You know, I know that they’re just after the well being of their son and all but sometimes it can be intrusive.
My husband is the eldest of seven kids. It’s a big family and…well… he’s the eldest son. It just really bothers me when they get wind of what I do and it’s just somewhat against what they do. “Against” means different. Then talk occurs then they start calling and trying to find out why this why that… then the ever condescending “ok if that’s how you want to do it.”
I belong to a small family. I have two other sisters and my dad. My mom has passed away. In our family we have a very simple philosophy, “If you don’t call then everything must be fine.” That doesn’t mean that we don’t talk to each other by the way. It’s just that we all live in different states. My dad though is just a few blocks away from my house which is fine but being “the dad” he doesn’t really intrude on what we do.
Oh well… I suppose there is truth in the saying, “You don’t just marry the man, you marry his entire family.”
Yesterday my husband was entertaining some of his friends in my house. They’re normally rowdy but, like women, the conversation always turns into a talk about women. In their case, the conversation about women started with Bob telling the others about this girl that he met just last week.
Now listen to how mean this is: He says the girl was all that smart but she’s good in bed and that he’ll continue seeing her because of that. Now I found that to be a nasty thing to say as it would seem that he’s just keeping her to satisfy his carnal needs. So I said, “What makes you think you’re good in bed?”
Now this question has plagued me for some time. I have often wondered what the criteria were for good sex for men. Does she have to be flexible? Acrobatic? Servile?
Bob answered, “Of course I am. She seemed satisfied enough.” Satisfied enough…. What exactly does that mean?
This got me thinking. I concluded that for me sex is like sales. Let me explain the 5 factors in sales in relation to sex.
- Sales Talk. The first part in making a sale is the sales talk. The seller has to condition the mind of the buyer by having conversation and building rapport. Good conversation always preps up a girl. A man who knows how to listen and to talk turns women on, more so, if they have a sense of humor. So having good conversation is preparing the girl for the sales pitch – sex.
- Demo. Now that the customer is somewhat open to the product, you perform a demonstration of the product so that the customer will get an idea or feel of the product. I consider foreplay the demonstration part of sex. Granted it is not the full product, but foreplay will give them the proper idea if they’ll go ahead or not. For example, if they guy is a sloppy kisser for sure the girl won’t continue. If foreplay is bad, the assumption is going all the way won’t be worth it. You have to understand foreplay is very important. Some guys just want to make a sale without any demo. Just won’t work and even if it does for sure the girl won’t have a blast.
- Sale. If everything has gone well, from the sales talk to the demo, then for sure the buyer will purchase the product. Given the good conversation and the fantastic foreplay then the girl is ready to go. The same way that the guys want to be paid attention to, it is important to note that girls need far more attention than the guy. The product has to attend to her needs and her needs usually take longer to satisfy. The product also has to be able to last long. A product whose battery gets easily expended usually is not satisfactory for the female client.
- After sales service. This is a very important facet of the product. Normally some people after making the sale will just leave the customer with the product and that’s it. After sales service increases the value of the product. For a girl, after sales would be a little bit more conversation and a bit of cuddling. When a guy gets up and goes and smokes a cigarette without a word sucks.
- Follow up. Follow up is usually under after sales service and is no longer a factor in being good in bed but it would be nice if the guys follow up. It will make him good in bed as well as just plain nice and good.
Ok that’s my list. It’s not the recipe to have a relationship but it will definitely give a girl a nice time at the same time not make her feel that she’s nothing more than an object to satisfy Bob’s needs. For sure, if these steps are followed an imprint of the guy being good in bed will stay forever and if she’s a kiss and teller she may just pass it around and advertising by word of mouth can be provided. :-D
You know.... the girl's only 15 years old and they are making a big issue over a picture taken of Miley by renown photographer Annie Leibovitz.
Yes it's a bit provocative but her father was there and they most probably know what they're doing.... there are jsut a lot of malicious people and it's just too much pressure for a girl that age....
Makes me wonder if ti were really wise to allow your child to enter showbiz.
I have to say one of the most beautiful things in the world to see on someone is a smile.
Smiles say a lot to other people. It may mean ok, I am content, or I am fine or you’re nice or I like you. With the numerous meanings that a smile can give it can be misunderstood but definitely, no matter what it means, it will remain beautiful and make an imprint into somebody’s mind.
The smile is so great that people have painted smiles, wrote poetry about smiles and composed songs about smiles. It is truly a wonderful thing. Plus it can make people’s day. The smile that I see on my husband’s face every morning helps me get through the day no matter how tough it may be… and so I return that smile back to him as he leaves for work to help him go through the day. At the end of the day, when he comes home I give him another one just to lift his weariness and to welcome him home. Yes, a smile can do wonders…
Let me share with you then a whole lot of beautiful smiles which hopefully can help you make your day. You don’t have to vote just look at how nice they are… these smiles have made me feel good… I hope it makes you feel good too….
